|2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible Debut in Geneva|
Today, Chevrolet introduced the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible at the Geneva Motor Show.
Other than the obvious changes to the styling that we’ve seen with the initial launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe, the biggest difference that we saw with this car was the new, fully electric convertible top!
The 2014 Stingray Convertible now has a power top that can be lowered remotely using the key fob and can be raised or lowered while the car is in motion up to 30 miles per hour.

According to Ed Welburn, GM Vice President of Global Design, having the new Stingray available in a Convertible was very important. “The convertible has been a part of the heart and soul of Corvette since the very beginning in 1953. The 2014 Corvette Stingray, in both it’s coupe and convertible version, is due to hit the global markets late in 2013. Chevrolet will offer left-hand-drive models to be sold in Japan, the Middle East, Russia, Europe and the United Kingdom. The export version of the Corvette will only vary slightly from the domestic version as need to accommodate local rules and regulations with things like exterior lighting markers, outside mirrors and headlamp washers.
In the top-up version, the Stingray Convertible offers a refined driving experience. The thick, three-ply fabric top along with rear window made of glass and additional sound-absorbing materials through out the cabin, the 2014 Convertible offers a quiet cabin along with premium looks.
Once you drop the top, the signature profile of the new design is further accentuated. The signature “waterfall” design between the seats is carried over in this design while dual black accent panels behind each seat enhance the character lines of the tonneau cover.
While the 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe is expected to start arriving at dealer’s lots sometime in the third quarter of this year, the convertible will be delayed and is not expected to be available for sale until late in the year or possible in the beginning of 2014.
